This is far and away better than "Friends".
And yet they have the same IMDb score.

Other than being about a group of friends living in New York the two shows didn't have much in common. Friends had a serious side to it while Seinfeld was all comedy. I would say Seinfeld had more in common with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia because both group of friends were selfish and could do some bad things although the gang from Philadelphia did much worse things.
shareI actually mentioned that Seinfeld was always comedy with no drama to a friend of mine who was a fan of the show and it blew his mind. He never actually realized it.
shareOh, "Seinfeld" is far and away the better show. It was cutting edge urban comedy for young singles. Frankly, it has that "Jewish" edge. I mean Larry David and Seinfeld wrote it.
Back in the day I always thought "Friends" was too cutesy and relied too much on dating story lines which didn't interest me.
But the masses preferred "Friends" so that's why they have the same score.

I've been watching reruns of Friends lately and I kinda like it now, though I've ignored the sitcom for years. Still, it's no Seinfeld.
sharethat Jewish edge is still all too powerful to this day
The writing on friends was a lot stronger.
