They were too old by the last season

What? Are you crazy? I mean in reference to the stories and characterisations.

They were getting whackier and whackier and it just became absurd.

Some episodes were like watching a cartoon.

Jerry grave digging in a pet cemetery? Elaine eating a 50 year old cake and asking the diner if they might have a similar one in the back?

They were becoming an insult to themselves and their age.

They should have left Kramer as the whacky one and left the other three to nut out the nuances of life.

the show had already jumped the shark by season 7, and i am assuming that's why Larry David left.
season 8 & 9 are just hard to watch save a couple of episodes.

Elaine and George seem to get on my nerves the most, as they seemed to lose the plot. Both seemed angrier than before.

Completely disagree. Thought the episodes were classic right up until the finale, which was awful. I’d watch the last two seasons any day of the week over the first season.

THE SEINFELD CHRONICLES FOREVER!👊🏿

First season is a write off. Last one is still good but sometimes their antics are showing that they'd been reduced to whackiness because they couldn't compete with Larry David's magic seasons.

agree, the first 2 seasons are not that great, by season 4 it was comedic genius. I still love Seinfeld and watch it but that last episode is not that great and a bit of a let down.

Totally agree. For me Seinfeld got better as the seasons progressed. Like you said, except for that finale…

That was the general consensus from critics back in the day etc… That Seinfeld was at its peak when Jerry decide to quit. Jerry saying something about him wanting to go out on top.

The first couple seasons are hard to sit through. In fact, I don’t even watch those episodes. Season 4 is where it finally starts to take off, but for me it’s seasons 5 & onward that’s the best Seinfeld.

There's nothing wrong with the first seasons, what are you talking about? If they hadn't been good, I would not have even seen much of this show.

It's just that the show improved SO MUCH over the later seasons, that it might look like first seasons are not up to par. They are a bit slower, more boring, but still funny.

Some of the most classic stuff was done in those seasons, like the whole architecture thing and the whole Art Van... not sure how to type this, Vandalay? Vandelay?

Kramer was also more feral during those times, reminding me of UHF's .. what was it, Stanley?

First season being a write-off? Do you even know what a write-off is?`

The last couple of seasons are GOOD, this is one of those rare shows that NEVER jumped the shark. Seinfeld was never even near a beach, it was that good.

There were brilliant episodes, good episodes, a few real stinkers, and a couple of mediocre and boring episodes, but as a whole, the show was incredibly good and funny for the most part.

They ended the show JUST before the quality could decline enough to make the 'shark-jumping' happen. The quality fluctuated a lot between seasons, but it wasn't too serious, almost all episodes are watchable, which is more than be said about many other sitcoms.

The most brilliant thing about this show is that it's 100% humor, there's no 'sappy side', like in Frasier and all other shows. Every season has good episodes, don't skip seasons, or you will be missing a lot.
