If you could pair-up any two detectives from any season, who'd you pick?

If I could choose any two detectives as partners across all seasons (original series), I would pick these three:
1. Lenny Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina)
2. Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina)
3. Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin)

Who'd you pick?

Briscoe and Fontana would have been epic IMHO.

Lenny Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina) Just for the--as the Tv ad says. Add in a few "Wise Cracks" Those two together would make funny comments. Both has passed on now. Liked all the L&O shows they were on.

Lenny Brisco and Joe Fontana

reply

Lenny Briscoe and anyone else!!!
But seriously, Lenny with Mike, Rey and Ed.
As long as Lenny is there.

Wait! Wait! Where are you going? I was gonna make Espresso!

reply

Lenny and Munch...I loved watching them work together on crossovers.
But really, the two I would love to watch interact are Lenny and Olivia from SVU. Or...oh wow...could you imagine Lenny and Bobby Goren? Wow...

reply

Lenny would have been requesting a new partner in the first ten minutes of the episode. I've got the feeling that there weren't a lot of detectives who could stand working with Goren for very long (not even Munch).

reply

I was wondering who I would pair Goren up with; I think you nailed it with Briscoe. That would be quite entertaining! Poor Lenny wouldn't know what to make of Goren.

Barring the Classic combo of Briscoe and Logan, I would have enjoyed an SVU crossover, and had Logan partnered with Olivia Benson. It would have been extremely interesting to see how Cragen handled the situation, and would have been a "Learning Experience" for all three of them.

I do hope he won't upset Henry...

reply

Eames knew how to stay out of the way and let Goren do his thing. No other cop could work with him unless they're ready to stand behind his eccentric behavior. Nevertheless Goren is my fave. I agree with many posters that Lenny works well with anyone.

reply

I would pair Fontana & Curtis - because they are so different from each other. There would be a tension between them that didn't exist in any of the 20 seasons.

reply

There isn't a bad choice to me, until the later seasons but I'd go with:

1. Logan and Green.
2. Fontana and Green.
3. Lenny and Fontana.
4. Green and Lenny.

The rest are very close 5-##.

They were only partners for five episodes, but I loved the Italian duo of Fontana and Nick Falco (Michael Imperioli).

Guess why Falco can't make my list,...

He was better when he was the Limo Driver that loved that model that the Big Time Gangster made him kill. If I remember the episode correctly?

He was so good I think the victim's name was Sharon? I recall him saying he ratted on the Gangster "for Sharon."?

I never watched The Sopranos, but I loved Michael Imperioli in Life on Mars and Detroit 1-8-9, in both of which he played a detective. He's also done a couple of episodes of Hawaii 5-0. He's one of my favorite actors. I thought he was fine as Falco, especially in the episode in which Ed Green was back and he was being framed for murder.

I would pick Profaci and Nina Cassady. That would be an excellent team.
