If you could pair-up any two detectives from any season, who'd you pick?

If I could choose any two detectives as partners across all seasons (original series), I would pick these three:
1. Lenny Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina)
2. Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina)
3. Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin)

Who'd you pick?

Lenny was and always will be the epitome of a N.Y.detective. As gracious in real life as one would hope for.

It's Briscoe and Logan for me.

And am I the only one here who feels Jerry Orbach/Lennie Briscoe is to NYC detectives as Jackie Gleason/Ralph Kramden is to NYC bus drivers?

More like Toody & Muldoon - "Car 54 Where are You?" Personally, my favorite cop show was "Barney Miller," next being "Naked City."

Briscoe and Logan were the best partners for me. Loved how they played off each other. I don't get the decision by Wolf to get rid of Logan. Still annoys me.

I was not really a fan of Fontana at all. But Briscoe and Fontana would have been funny.

I read somewhere it was a wage dispute. What a shame. Mike Logan was hard not to love.

The main reason is because of the similarities between Logan and Briscoe, they had such similar beliefs and personalities that they couldn't have discussions or disagreements really, and they wanted to change that.

The best pairing was Briscoe/Green. They worked perfectly together.

I also liked Fontana, Logan, Lupo and Cerreta, any of those mix ups would be interesting, although I think Logan and Fontana might've gotten into a fistfight had they worked together, both had big egos and Logan wouldn't have liked Fontana's flashy style.

Absolutely Briscoe and Logan. I like Fontana but he's a distant third behind those 2. And Angie Harmon as the ADA. She was my favorite with her looks and strong anti-criminal demeanor.

While I like your first choice, I'd have to pick two teams since both Lenny & Fontana were senior detectives.

That makes the choices easy:
Lenny & Ed Green
Fontana & Ed Green

Logan would be a runner-up.

Greevy and Cassady (George Dzundza & Milena Govich)!

Fontana and Green were the sharpest dressed pair.

Lenny & Green fit together as a working pair the best.

Logan/Fontana (I envision them as hating each other's guts - lol)

Oh my God, Fontana would take one look at Mikey's plaid ties and roll his eyes so hard they'd fall out of his head.

Although I think Logan would like Fontana's "Oh, it's OK, we're authorized!" routine.

My favorite actual teams were Briscoe & Curtis and Briscoe & Logan......
