Charles III

Yes, the characters would be too old today to make a fuss but imagine if a change occurred during the run of the show back during the 1990's. What lengths would Hyacinth go to to make herself a part of the ceremony of Charles coronation to the throne? How far would she squeeze Richard to make it happen even though unrealistic? They just ran the episode where she was obsessed with the idea of a delivery truck having a "royal seal" on it. When on the subject of royalty Hyacinth becomes extremely detached from reality. I can see Elizabeth being scoped by Scotland Yard as to her friendship with Hyacinth. That Hyacinth tells anyone willing to listen that Elizabeth has been tasked to purchase a gift (at Hyacinth's direction) for Charles. That the Vicar is some sort of distant relative to Charles and his branch of the family are the black sheep. That Onslow winds up being invited to the festivities as a gesture to the common folk.

If Hyacinth was fit to go to the coronation what would her scheme be to have gotten in? Or would she endlessly hound the postman because no invitation came? I wish that they had shot material back when the series was in first run concerning the subject. Speculating Charles rising to the throne would have been fairly easy odds.
