Lawyers don't make enough to buy a mansion in Bel Air.

Especially black lawyers.

Well, his firm had some really rich clients. One of them alone had given them a 20 million dollars account. So yeah, I can see how Uncle Phil could be very wealthy as well.

And please don't forget that Aunt Viv was a professor, so I guess that she had a good salary as well.

He was a corporate attorney. I don't know if they make enough in LA to afford a Bel-Air mansion, but they are very wealthy.
