Why did they leave?
Why did Andrea, Jesse, Mr & Mrs Walsh leave the show? Did the actors want to leave or was it decided not to have them in the show anymore?

shareI suppose their contracts were up, and chose not to renew them (same with Luke Perry, who left after the first ten episodes of season six). Gabrielle Cateris left to make her talk show; it was short-lived.
shareAnd here it is-

Christ...
she was Ricki-ing it..
was it a show where the people on the stage keep lunging at each other ?
I never really watched I probably was in school when it was on, but it look like a great show just like the other talk shows that was on air at the time. Her show look similar to Queen Latifah talk show and Jenny Jones. From that clip you posted she actually make a great talk show host.
shareI can't imagine why her talk show was short lived. It couldn't have anything to do with the exasperating Ahhhndrea. I'm sure every 90210 viewer would want to watch her drone on and on for a whole hour.

Since she left, it was obvious that Jesse's character had to leave as well

yeah but I meant it as a good things come from bad. when we lost Andrea we lost Jesse.
HEBEGONE! HEBEOUTTAHEAH!

Well Kelly mom was still around and Kelly was of age. I don't see why Jim & Cindy couldn't be on the show and be the "go to parent" when someone in the gang was having trouble and Cindy could make her fruit cups and make everything better.
shareI read somewhere that Gabrielle was starting to look very much like her real age and it was hard for them to make her look somewhat like a 20 year old. That could be totally wrong though.
shareno, it was right. he was pregnant and was not >ahem< wearing it well. she ballooned up [that happens] and she went and got that soccer mom haircut.
I always say they should have shipped her off to yale and have her be 'off camera' for the most part... maybe have a scene with her on the computer emailing Brandon or Steve... or on the phone with one of them... then sophomore year transfer to where they are and go on with your life.
they didn't need to bastardize her character. a teen, unmarried pregnancy by a teacher/assistant no doubt is not what her character was about. That was not how Andrea Zuckerman was written.

That is not why she left the show. It had nothing to do with age. They'd written Andrea in a corner with the marriage and baby story, and Gabrielle was ready to leave by the end of her contract. She'd been doing more TV movies and then she was offered her own talk show, so she didn't resign. She was not fired due to "age" anymore than Ian or Luke, who were also in their 30s by then, were left go because of age. She was not the only older one.
sharethe ironic thing was she was hoping the whole baby storyline/marriage would give her character much more to do.
sharewhich would be good if she didn't marry Jesse. If she went to yale and came back 'after a bad date left her pregnant' and then continued to go to school at home it would have been a lot better and I would have had so much more respect for her than what ended up happening.
I just wished they did something that was more controversial than a teenage pregnancy from a goodytwoshoes who was apparently only a goodytwoshoes when under her parents watchful eyes.

Cindy and Jim were written out because the actors were expensive + they didn't use them much (if at all) at that point.
Gabrielle Carteris was visibly getting old, so I guess they just cut their losses and she took Jesse with her.
That wedding was just dumb. She dated Noah the previous season and David was with everybody and then they hook up like 4 episodes before the finale and got married.
shareI agree that wedding was dumb and for the reasons you said.
shareAndrea kissing all the guys on the lips goodbye when she left was a little bizarre too. They weren't like little peck's on the lips either they were long kisses.

Haha!! Yeah that was really random and gross. Right up there with Freddy Krueger sticking his down Nancy throat through the phone.

Carol Potter and James Eckhouse were dropped from the show when their contracts were up at the end of season 5. The thinking was that the kids were older and didn't need parents on the show any more. Ratings had started declining by that point, so I'm sure the thought of saving a few bucks didn't hurt.
At the time, Gabrielle Carteris announced she was leaving the show's full time cast to do a talk show, but would be back for six episodes in season 6. In reality, it was just a couple of episodes, and my guess is that she, too, was dropped from the show, but was allowed to announce it as her own decision.
losing jimbo & cindo was a huge mistake: clearly nat was moving in on cindo while jimbo was overseas....would have been a fun & very greasy love triangle.
The food I've liked in my time is American country cookin'-Colonel Sanders 🇺🇸
I was disappointed that didn't go anywhere. Nat was finally discovering his sexuality.
