OT: What are your favorite movies?

I have a 5-way tie for #1, lol! They are:

--"Goodfellas"
--"The Searchers"
--"Tin Cup"
--"Taxi Driver"
--"American Beauty"

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading!

The food I've liked in my time is American country cookin'-Colonel Sanders ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

reply

How To Murder your Wife
Rear Window
Star Wars [prequels need not apply]
Notes on a Scandal
The Indiana Jones movies -- yeah, all four of them.
Sweeny Todd
the breakfast club
Marie Antoinette

I actually don't like Gone with the Wind that much but I always watch it when it plays on AMC because it just seems un-American to NOT watch it.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

Off the top of my brain, The Ghost & Mrs Muir, Pink Flamingo's, Sunset Blvd, Lion King.

But I can't list them in order.

reply

I'd want to maybe add Dirty Harry 70s movies.

Great ready-made movie night, either 1 or two Dirty Harry movies, or you can cut that with either "Bullitt", 'the Getaway" or Bronson's 'Mr Majestyk"

reply

dirty harry is a classic for sure.

reply

not so much...maybe because it was so anticipated meant it had a lot to live up to..possibly enjoyed the Gauntlet and the Dead Pool?? more than that, and they were not Dirty Harry movies...the 70s magic was missing from Sudden Impact..if that is the one that begins with the little RC toy car bomb chasing their car through traffic..

reply

agree, the vibe wasn't as gritty.
