Rip-off of The Naked Gun
The finger-biting fish scene. A direct rip-off from The Naked Gun (1988). Still a funny movie though.
shareI spotted that. Would Candy, a comedy icon in his own right and producer of Harry Crumb, really flat out rip off a sequence from a hit comedy that came out the year before??
I want to give him the benefit if the doubt and put it down to coincidence, or both films stealing a classic gag from some older film/sketch and Crumb looking like plagiarism because it came out shortly after.
I really don’t know… but I struggle to believe Candy would consciously allow himself to look like a joke thief.
