Sea Of Love VS Basic Instinct

As much as I love Paul Verhoeven films, I personally think Sea of Love is better than Basic Instinct.

I like Sea of Love but absolutely love Basic Instinct, if I had a choice of watching these movies 10 out of 10 times I'd probably go Basic Instinct 8 times and Sea of Love 2 times. Basic Instinct is one of my all time favorite guilty pleasure movies, when I went to see it I was only 18 and of course went to see it for the sex scenes. Now I love it for everything else besides the sex scenes. I think Basic Instinct is a masterpiece compared to Sea of Love.

Basic Instinct is a lot more stylish and memorable but Sea of Love has better writing and a slightly more realistic plot and straight-forward directing. Sea of Love has a little more steamy romance in my opinion because I related with the main character a little more and how he was emotionally drawn to the femme fatale, rather than it seeming more physical with Basic Instinct.
