Will always be the best version

Just wanted to remind everyone this remains the best version of the Punisher movie. Unfortunately IMDB has decided to eliminate comments, so I'd just like this to be the last thread standing on the subject.

Agreed it's the best Punisher movie bar none.

I could eat a 🍑 for hours 😎

We'll see what Bernthal will do. It won't be as dark and gritty as this though.

reply

Lightman42, it's great and it was imperative that you kept the truth to this film. 100% agree with you.

This is easily the best incarnation of The Punisher that's still cinematic gold.

Thanks for all your support, and thank you MovieChat for preserving the history of cinematic communication for the planet. It's important work you're doing. God bless.

I simply came to say "thank you" for not being a jackass. The last few boards I visited were filled with arrogant twats talking out of their asses.

You're welcome! Haven't spent a ton of time here yet, but looking forward to reading and sharing opinions. Movies always bring out a lot of raw passion, I think that's why IMDB ran away from it all with their tail between their legs. Hollywood creates extremely fine tuned content and a message board is the complete opposite. People just drop their misspelled, anger infused, anonymous and sometimes offensive opinions on these things and it can create a lot of issues for people who can't cope with conflicting ideas. There's an inherent desire to edit, program, and refine "the work" which is really just cultural thought mining. It's just not the place to try and enforce thought police. Calm down people! It's the internet. It's a total flood of ideas. Just because we don't always agree doesn't mean we can't drink a beer together!

"Just because we don't always agree doesn't mean we can't drink a beer together!"

Amen!

Yeah just before coming on this movie's board, I was on the board of a movie which is about a school shooting that happened in my region. I thought about discussing the movie i just saw... What i found was several posts made by dumbasses who were making posts to say that the victims deserved it, that the shooter was the victim, that male unarmed students should had rushed on the shooter to disarm him and, because they didn't, they were supposedly cowards... I was like "okkkkaaayyyyy...I need some fresh air" and then right after i came here, saw your post and I was relieved to see that some people can actually be reasonable lol.

And just before that one board, I was on The Dark Knight Rises' board... Don't think I really need to explain anything here lol.

reply

Yea I find the more obscure the movie, the more meaningful conversations can be had. The Dark Knight Rises is like Mall of America. Punisher 89 is like a local comic book shop.

reply

Thomas Jane's version was better.

reply

I agree. Lundgren's not exactly got range as an actor but you completely buy him in this as someone who's completely burnt out.

And I just like the whole atmosphere of it.

reply

I usually put him second after Ray Stevenson. This movie was the better film as it has a consistent tone. But I like Stevenson's Frank Castle more.

reply

I prefer the Thomas Jane version but still like this one. War Zone was too silly for my taste. Bernthal in season 2 of Daredevil is best imo though I disliked the show he got.

reply

Why can't we enjoy them all?
