The day this comes out on DVD

Is the day movie cinema history will be made, the amount of sales this DVD will generate is INSANE, to put it nicely.

The fact that No Holds Barred is still to be released on DVD is a travesty.

I agree and if I were Vince McMahon, I would deny ever having produced it.

reply

Yeah, Why hasn't Vince McMahon capitalized on this opportunity. He could make millions.

Commander Powell would have named it.

I remember when this movie came out. I saw it in the theaters. When I went there were only 4 people in the theater watching it. My brother and me and two other guys. I had never seen a threater as empty as that one was. And the theater was not a small one either it was a multi plex type with like 4 or 5 other movies playing. I was shocked that it was so empty.

JOHN WAYNE: "You look more like a black-eyed Susan to me.

reply

How I wish i could have seen this in the cinema... No TV can do this movie justice like a cinema screening could.

reply

As much as you love this movie (I probably would too, but have never seen it), I don't think there are enough other people out there who'd buy it to warrant a DVD release. If you want this title on disc, you're going to have to petition for it.

reply

what are you talking about?, there are movies people have never even heard of that have no name people in it that get DVD's released it has nothing to do with how many people would but it, it just has to do with whoever has the rights to it pulling their head out and putting it out on dvd.

reply

I want this on DVD as bad as you do, buy we have to face facts: unless the buzz really starts, the chances that this will be digitized are very slim. Those other DVDs may not have names you ever heard of, but I doubt they got released just for the hell of it. There could also be liscensing issues with No Holds Barred. You want me to try to get ahold of Vince McMahon or something? I think I can resist calling him a right-wing bigot for fifteen minutes.

I'll go email vince right now
I think that would be best. I might forget to edit out the "you sleazy son of a b!+ch," "@$$ hole," and "Neo Nazi!!" parts before I hit send.

I saw this is the theatre when it first came out. The theatre was packed as I remember having to sit in the very first row with my neck looking up the whole time. I really enjoyed/enjoy the movie since I'm a Hulk Hogan and wrestling fan. I hope it does come out on DVD in the U.S and I'm sure it will soon. It's already out in some foreign countries so hopefully a U.S release is not too far away.

reply

Out on VHS. I never heard of a DVD release anywhere. I really want to see this movie. Maybe I can find a rental at a MOM&POP video store. Maybe I could download it from someone else on my file-share program, but wouldn't that be wrong?

and when they had show it with this movie

I'm not sure I get that part. Could you explain that part again, please?

reply

[deleted]

I'll email it to you myself. All you have to do is ask for it.

reply

It was also available on the Coliseum Home Video release called "SuperTape"... the first one. You actually see Hogan and Beefcake on the cover of the box in behind the old blue cage bars. I'd like to see that match again too. Only ever saw it once.

BTW, interesting fact: "Zeus" (aka Tiny Lister) also appears in the 3rd Austin Powers movie ("Goldmember"). He's one of the big prisoners in the scene before the "Hard Knock Life" sequence.

reply

yeah there are a ton of hogan and wrestling fans that will buy this. they should bring it out on DVD.

reply

Guess he thought he was, well you aren't. I would buy a dvd of this movie, it was good

reply

I think they might have trouble releasing it due to the fact that Vince no longer is legally allowed to refer to his product in the past or present tense as "WWF". Maybe I'm wrong about this but everything he's released since then has been altered to remove any such mention of it.

I actually have a copy of this on DVD myself so I'm cool but I would like an official one.

reply

A little redubbing would cover that problem nicely, as I don't ever recall seeing the WWF logo in the movie. Except maybe in the beginning.

I own 97 of 150 John Wayne movies on DVD!

reply

Also keep in mind that most of the old WWF releases have had Jesse Ventura's voice removed from the commentary...his involvement in the match could be preventing this release.

I own a former rental copy of the video in good condition but would love to download it from somewhere.
