The swimming pool scene

What the fuck is going on during the swimming pool scene with Yvonne? The diving board comes to life and breaks apart. However, what the hell is going on with the swimming pool? It looks very deep for some reason. Normally it already looks deep, but in the dream world, Freddy must've made it a lot deeper because when almost all the water disappears, it looks at least 40 ft. deep. I'm guessing the pool is at least 12 ft deep but Freddy tripled the depth of the pool to be at least 36 ft. deep. I know a lot of swimming pools back in the 1980s were probably a lot deeper than today's pools. I don't think most pools nowadays go past 6 ft. When I was a kid back in the 90s, most pools I've been to went up to at least 8-10 ft. deep. The pool I went to several months ago went up to 12 ft.
