The neighbors

You're supposed to hate these characters, but they're practically saintly compared to Clark. Strange.

reply

They certainly have interesting taste in decor

reply

They're easy to hate, or laugh at when something flies through their window and wrecks their pretentious stereo.
Plus one of them is Elaine.

reply

Pretentious stereo? There's nothing pretentious about having quality components to produce high fidelity sound. It was still common in the 1980s, when this movie was made. Today, most people don't get it. They're satisfied with crappy streaming sound coming from their cell phones through cheap ear buds.

reply

It is not the stereo, that is the problem with Todd and Margo.
It is that they have such a snobbish attitude and think that they're so superior to Clark and Ellen.

reply

i see lots of people feel they dont belong in film.

it does look like there scene are all tacked on, and dont fits with rest of film.

i would like to see edit of movie with the yuppys taken out. i wonder if film is better?

reply

HEY...HO...HE'S MISTER CONTRARIAN! NOEMOJI

reply

I didn't have any problems with Todd but I couldn't stand Margo, I do feel like I'm watching a totally completely different movie when they appeared onscreen.

reply

I like their inclusion. They add an element of tension. But not really. Comedic tension, which fits well in this film.

reply

Clark is really a bumbling dad and far from perfect, but he's at least trying to do good.
Todd and Margo are just unlikable from start to finish.
