The movie is great. It is a mix of lots of humor and action and some social commentary. I think it is not just a good film, but a great film. It's entertaining, it's funny, it's dark at moments, it's really light at moments, overall it is just well rounded and I really love the movie. I hardly hear people talk about it, I just hear about the first. Am I in the minority with this opinion?
I watch it all the time, love all 4 of these movies. I don't care who talks about it since watching it is what you're supposed to do. I'm sure there are tons of people who love this one and talk about it a lot.
Had just gotten around to watching the first two LW films on DVD. I enjoyed the *beep* out of them. They're stupid crazy, but in a GOOD way, I just love how chaotic the action scenes are. 😜 That, and the chemistry between Gibson and Glover is a wonderful thing to watch, as these guys grow as best friends.
Despite not having seen LW3 or 4 yet, I think 2 to be the best of the three sequels. In terms of how and when I've watched movies in my life, I compare it favorably to Scream 2, cause much like that film it is a masterful sequel that does everything right, and yet they're the most interesting to talk about, in terms of their background histories, i.e. the script changes. The original Shane Black script for LW2 was much darker and originally ended with Riggs dying, but it was changed thanks to the magic of test screenings. As we can all know, S2's original script had much different killers, but was changed due to the script leaking. It always makes me wonder, how would these films have turned out, had they been released as they were originally written?
So yeah, LW2 is an awesome and fun action sequel, and I consider the most fun out of the bunch, the action scenes are much more insane and very fun. I love when Riggs rips down the villains' stilt house, that is SO COOL!!! And the whole "Diplomatic immunity/It's just been revoked" scene, *beep* awesome, I love it. 😎
Well i rewatched it for the first time in 20 odd years last week .
I liked it back in the day, but it seemed very unremarkable in 2018, the only talking points being the absurdities of the plot , which are covered in most of the other threads.
