Your grasp of history is very weak. Churchill begged and schemed for two years to get the U.S. into the Second World War. When it finally happened, he was mightily relieved, and for good reason--Britain was desperate, and not anywhere close to having "already pretty much won the war". Given the choice of the U.S. or the U.S.S.R. as allies, he was definitely more intent on, and more pleased with, having the U.S. on his side. Without billions of dollars worth of materiel, a couple of million personnel, and invaluable command expertise provided by the U.S., Britain could not possibly have prevailed over Germany. In the Pacific, the U.S. dominated the war against Japan with the help of the Royal Navy, which took a secondary role. The story in Europe was similar during the First World War, except Russia had much less involvement.
