Come on be honest, who else cried when the ant died??
I did when i first saw it when i was 6.
share~* *haha.. I cried when I was little, too.*~
shareI watched it tonight on Lifetime or A&E or something for the first time in years after seeing it in the movie theatre. I cried tonight. I even told Mom "oh my god, I am crying again when the ant dies." I'm 45. Empathy is not always handy . . . or cool (since I am not 6)

I'm 17 and just saw this movie for the first time and I cried too!
shareI didn't actually cry, but I did get misty. But I can't help but wonder if those kids would ever have the heart to step on an ant after that experience.

anyone who didnt cry or at least go misty eyed when Antee died is a LIAR. The whole build up and everything.......im 23 and sure I cried and know I will if I watch it again! Another tear jerker is the end of Mr Holland's Opus....and I only saw that a couple of years ago!
shareJust watched the scorpion scene on YouTube during my lunch hour at work. Big mistake - I still cried, and I'm 28.
That scene is a real tear-jerker... I guess you'd have to be a heartless tool not to cry.
Kinda like the ending of "Monster Squad"... no spoilers on that though.
I was more frustrated than anything else, since for some inexplicable reason they paused while the ant was in trouble. Plus the scorpion didn't die.

One of the posters on this board said he was 23 when it came out and was too old to go and see it!
Please! If this was out today, I'D go and see it, and I'm nearly 26! I went to see The Incredibles and Cars!

Nah, I never cried, but it's always a painful scene to watch.
Here's the link if you think you can handle it.

That scorpion is a vicious *beep* Hopefully it got shredded by the lawn mower the next morning.
I'm almost 27 and I still cried in that scene

I'm glad there is a Thread devoted to Antee. It's seriously a sad scene or sort of like a kick in the face because you start getting attached to him and then it's like SIKE we're killing him. :(
We love you Antee or..Anty or Andy whatever you want to call the little fallen ant
I saw this twice in the theater in '89 and I cried both times!
sharei came to this board with the specific purpose of asking that same question lol
HEISENBERG WAS HERE.... (I think)
(yes it's a chemistry joke so sue me!)
I don't think I could ever cry over a bug, I really don't like them. However, it did make me sad.
