It always seemed like an afterthought and unnecessary. The Ghostbusters don't even have a single scene with him or acknowledge that he tried to help at the end.
The only redeeming factor of that side plot was Louis getting on the bus even though Slimer is driving.
He was just helping his friends.
shareLouis as the 5th Ghostbuster still sounds like blasphemy to me. For some reason his little Ghostbuster wannabe routine towards the end of the movie kind of annoyed me as a kid. Like he was just a loser trying to shoehorn himself into the Ghosbusters out of nowhere just because. It didn't help that he seemingly got the credit despite not actually doing anything useful. I agree that it felt tact on and could have easily been left out. Still it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the movie.

shareThis entire film was unnecessary and lame. Let's be honest, this cheapened the original film and I don't have hopes for the next one redeeming the franchise. It should have been left alone after the first film. Period.

shareI AGREE PART 2 IS A STEP DOWN...BUT AS A KID I WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH 13 SEQUELS...THESE ARE GREAT CHARACTERS AND AN INTERESTING WORLD...ILL GIVE THE NEW ONE A FAIR SHAKE.
shareIt’s not dreadful but it was kinda unnecessary. Sometimes side characters should stay side characters - they don’t need an arc.
I’d have liked to have seen the interior of the Ghostbusters office (we do in a deleted scene where Louis tries to zap slimer and nearly hits Janine)
