WERE THEY WRONG?

I talked to people about this and i suprisingly got a lotta mixed opinions. personally, i think these guys are sick. erickson was a stand up guy and all but the rest of them were sick and deranged, that girl was not a soldier and they acted like a bunch of pigs. it was wrong and disgusting. BUUUUT a lotta people say it was understandable. people went crazy in vietnam. they took out all the hate and agression they felt from the war out on her and made her suffer for it. theyre trained to hate and kill these people...whattyou think? and why is the guy from talladega nights in it and why does he look exactly the same lol

Sadly , most men would do it , if they knew for sure they could get away with it .

Were they wrong? Are you kidding me?! I deal with people all day long. They do whatever they want without a single hint of fear for the consequences. Now we have 5 soldiers; 2 ringleaders, 2 followers, and 1 righteous guy. They take an innocent girl from her home, rape and torture her, and then murder her! And their own defense is 'if you take us out of the war, the only people you're helping is the Viet-cong'. We didn't need monsters, rapists, and murderers in the military to fight a war. And we damn sure didn't need commanding officers who were more than willing to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the suffering of the innocent!

This was not some incident which occured during the heat and insanity of battle, which would have still been a completely unjustified and criminal act on the part of any soldier(s). This was a rape that was planned out, and thus pre meditated, on the part of the squad's leader. And this is exactly why The Captain's 'reasoning'(excuse) that Merserve is only a "kid" simply doesn't fly.
