Bogus journey.
I always preferred the bogus journey to the excellent adventure, maybe because I watched it more as a kid.
I watched the new one today, it wasn't great.

That’s not surprising. I was never a big fan of either of the first two.
share"Bogus Journey" was way better than the first movie, being funnier, darker-humored, and weirder. Like "Addams Family Values", another sequel that was better than the first.
I haven't seen the new Bill and Ted movie yet, because, well. The 3rd film is always the weakest.
Good point never thought of that
These include:-
Back to the future 3
Karate kid 3
Bill and ted 3
Home alone 3
Iron Man 3
Gold Member
Escape Clause
Lethal Weapon
Diehard
Terminator
Aliens
Die Hard 3 was good... It is not better than the 1st one... but I liked it more than Die Hard 2
shareYeah you might be right. I watched it once when it went to video. I don't really remember it but assumed it sucked because it was the 3rd. I wasn't big on the second one. And I started to watch a Good Day to Die Hard while on a plane and only made it to about 10 mins. Love the original.
shareSame. Bogus Journey was better and the new one is pretty bad.
shareWatching these movies as a kid, I preferred Excellent Adventure. Now as a supposed adult, I prefer Bogus Journey.
I dunno if my tastes just changed, or if Bogus Journey just has more rewatch value.
Excellent Adventure does seem to have more filler watching it back. The bit where the time machine breaks down in prehistoric times, for example, lends absolutely nothing to the plot. Also, the bit where they go to the future they could've cut and it wouldn't have made a huge difference to the movie. (Though Rufus does reference this happening at the end, and the scene itself does have some funny lines.) Even the bit where they are just travelling round snatching historical characters, though amusing and relevant to the plot, once you've seen it you know which characters are in it, and who they are about to round up. So after seeing the movie a few times, you're just waiting for them to get to the point where all the historical characters are running around the mall, which is the cool bit.
Bogus Journey feels more plot heavy. And most of the segments are amusing. The boys walking round as ghosts, possessing their dads, finding Missy etc was funny. Them going to hell, playing games with Death, then going to heaven all were amusing. (And in some part hilarious.) Then getting Station and heading towards the Battle Of The Bands scene, which was a great climax, was cool.
Not that Excellent Adventure wasn't brilliant, it's one of my favourites. But at the same time, Bogus Journey feels like it had more of a fleshed out plot on rewatching.
Bill Sadler steals BJ and FTM. I mean he's The Grim Reaper.
