Overrated due to nostalgic fans cant move on from their past

Its as campy as they come and cheesy and dated. But for some reason people who grew up in 80's cant let go as if they are doing a disservice to their childhood if they accept this movie is just average and cheesy. You work around technical limitations of the time and not work with them.

It's about a guy in a batsuit, how can it be anything else than cheesy?! Big mistake on Nolan's part to take it seriously.

Campy? All we had beforehand was the 40’s serial, the 60’s TV Show and zany kids cartoons, this movie was a world away from all that, for the first time on the silver screen we saw a darker Batman, a Gotham City of ageless gothic splendour and the Caped Crusader - not just for kids.

All through my childhood the only Batman I knew was the Adam West Batman, I can still enjoy that Batman for its comedy but Burton’s Batman was like a breath of fresh air along with the Frank Miller titles Year One and the Dark Knight Returns.

Batman would never be the same again!

This Batman was a personification of the eighties. It ruled!!!

Average and Cheesy? That's modern superheroe films today. Things are so average that the villans are just trying to destroy the world by shooting a beam into the sky. Sure, this may not be up to your standard, but anyone can see that today's superhero films are just reapeats of the ones last year.

It has a sense of fun and adventure that's lacking in the dour and pretentious superhero movies that came along later.
