Crypt Keeper Vs. The Midnight Society

What an awesome crossover this could've been between TFTC and Are You Afraid Of The Dark. How do you think a meeting between Crypty and the Midnight Society might've gone down if somehow the MS crew found their way to Crypty's manor and found him in his crypt? Seeing what kind of stories they could come up with is fun to speculate.

I've always really enjoyed it, it's a fun episode. Definitely has a strong AYAOTD/Goosebumps flare to it. I could totally see it being a collaboration between Crypty and the Midnight Society.

I don't see such a crossover turning out well unless the Cryptkeeper massacred every one of them after the story, and then made a pun about it.

AYAOTD was always way too tame ever to be the least bit scary. To lower Crypty to the Midnight Society's level and present them (and both shows) as if they were equals would be an insult.

So in other words, if they were gonna do a crossover, the crossover itself would have to make clear that TFTC is the vastly superior show and AYAOTD was a poor, gimped-up attempt at horror.

AYAOTD was a good show that had a lot of episodes that were quite frightening.

I disagree. I used to watch AYAOTD when it first aired, hoping that it might one day scare me or at least show me something interesting the likes of which I'd not seen before. It never did either of those things.

I also watched the censored versions of TFTC when they first aired (at that time, I didn't know that they were censored nor did I have access to the real versions).

All I could think every time I was watching any episode of AYAOTD was: "Why does every episode of this show suck so very badly compared to TFTC?...I'd so much rather be watching TFTC."

I also watched Tales from the Cryptkeeper when it first aired, and had the exact same thoughts as I did when watching AYAOTD. Those two might make for a more compatible crossover since they were more or less equally gimped.

We all know what would happen during the first five minutes: Eric would wet himself, David & Kristen would sneak upstairs to make out, and Kiki & Frank would begin looting the place, leaving the actual basement exploration to Gary, Tucker and Betty Ann. As for those who didn't pass out upon Crypty's inevitable "Peekaboo!" reveal, my money's on Betty Ann. (Srsly, there was always something a bit 'off' about her...)

Good point about Eric 

Thinking this over, if the Midnight Society paid Crypty a visit in his crypt, would he have let them start a small fire in the middle like they do in the woods when they tell their tales? 

You know who I can see getting along with Crypty of the MS in a way? Stig. He was regarded as the outsider of the bunch during his short stint with the MS and I can see him and Crypty being good friends. Seeing as Stig told arguably the best story (The Tale Of The Dead Man's Float) and another good one (Station 109.1), if he and Crypty collaborated to tell the story I'd expect it to be pretty awesome.

It'd be cool to see someone attempt a crossover of this one day. Perhaps there's already some fan fictions?

Even though they're neither TFTC or AYAOTD episodes, two stories of another anthology series I could see being a Crypt Keeper and Midnight Society collaboration are The Fair-Haired Child and The V Word from Masters Of Horror. Both sort of feel like they have aspects of both shows and I could see a collaboration story being akin to those.
