shareWho else loved the episode All in the Mall? that episode is one of my favorites.
shareThis episode was plot driven, which was novel for this show. The plot reminded me of The Goonies.
The mall sets were very convincing, and it was nice to see the kids go out into the real world.
They should have done more stories at the mall.
Not really a fan of SBTB, but this episode was so good it could have been an episode of Twin Peaks!
Yes it's one of my favourite episodes but a few things didn't make sense:
- why were the bad guys (aka actors) still acting like 'bad guys' when Zack and the gang weren't around?
- And if Screech had camped out in the mall the night before with no problems, why did the gang have to hide in the sports place all night? Only one person had to camp out for the tickets
- how about if instead of the wacky hijinks they handed the money in or just took the money and left the mall (like most people would), that would be a short, boring episode of candid video
What I didn't like this episode is that Jessie is the only one absent for no reason at all.
shareShe was absent because of the big bad 1989 recession.
Remember kids, dressing up like Hitler in school isn't cool!share
She was injured and could not appear, back then. Nothing to do with the recession.
shareShe was injured financially because of the double recession of 1989...
'Get busy livin..... or die tryin' - Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption
Well first, according to tv.com, she was injured on the set during this episode.
shareI read on tv.com that she was injured financially due to the double recession of 1989 that is why she did the movie 'showgirls' to recoop some of her money that was hurried along...
'Get busy livin..... or die tryin' - Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption
Alright, Jessie did the movie 'showgirls' to recoop some of her money that was hurried along.
That led her of getting injured on the set during this episode, now that's understandable.
Elizabeth broke her ankle IIRC and missed filming a couple eps as a result.
One of the better episodes, Love Machine, is missing Lisa... and I think it was years before I even noticed lol. They didn't seem to know what to do with her, aside from give her awful lines to say to Screech (awful as in bad writing, not as in them being putdowns; e.g. "yeah, and your mouth should come with an airbag." wtf)
LOVED this episode!
shareI don't like how they picked on Screech so much because of his learning disability too bad this show came out after the Americans with disabilities act of 1990...
'Get busy livin..... or die tryin' - Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption
I didn't like how they always took advantage of him, especially Zach.
shareMy favorite episode was "The Fight," where Zack and Slater came to blows. To me, that was definitely the funniest episode of the original series. I still laugh when I see the scene where Zack and Slater about about to fight by a punch bowl at The Max and Mr. Belding, who was wearing a toupee at the time, tried to break it up and his toupee got knocked off into the punch bowl!
shareOh yeah, "The Fight" episode was hot and good!
Slater's shirt and Zack's pants are completely stained with red punch during the fight, LOL!
The aftermath is my fav. The movie theater scene is epic!
shareThere was a post on here about 4-5 years ago [when the board was more active (prob due to it still being on TBS)] regarding this episode and how much everyone loved it. The episode is a blast, walking the typical SBTB line between hilarity and insane/unrealistic situations. The writers really hit their stride in S3 (e.g. funniest eps ever like All in the Mall, SATs, Fake IDs, Mystery Weekend... so-bad-its-good eps like Rockumentary, No Hope With Dope, Pipe Dreams, Home for Christmas... etc.) altho S2 might be the most consistently good IMO.
shareIt's one of the best episodes. Everything about it is so absurd and ridiculous, and that's saying something about a show that, in general, is absurd and ridiculous. It's taken to the nth degree here, though. I have to wonder if the writer(s), director and even the cast were all high or something. Take Screech for instance. He's unusually weird this episode. Or how Zack asks the guy to go get more footballs from in the back room, but then when the guy comes back and Zack is gone, he doesn't even so much as react.
You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.
