Kelly’s Career Change

At the start of the series Kelly is a Theater Arts major. She is studying dance. It is mentioned many times. She even gets the lead role in a production that is based on a football game.

Somehow in her senior year she comes to the sad conclusion that she has no talent as an ACTRESS and gives up her dream. When did she decide to switch from dance to acting?

I can accept that she interviewed for an ad agency job and went to New York. But with no business experience, somehow in two months she is a wildly successful Advertising executive?

As a brand new employee she was put in charge of two huge campaigns? Not very realistic. When Hayden visited her she had a large office and a staff. Her staff members were clearly older than she was. What Ad Agency puts a recent college grad into a high level executive position?

Kelly’s story would have been more realistic and funnier if she went to New York to continue her pursuit of a career in the theater, struggling to support herself with temp jobs, working as a waitress, etc.

I missed the actress when she left the show. But it would have been funnier to see Hayden freak out and panic over his daughter’s struggles in the big city.
