I am probably not the only person who thinks this, but while I try to not IMDb ratings to heart, why isn't the rating higher for this film? It is a truly charming and poignant movie, and is for me one of Don Bluth's best. Not to mention beautiful animation, wonderful music, a heart warming story and likeable characters, especially Ducky.

Anyone else feel the same?

Of course you do. You saw it as a child and was young and naive. If you watched it today you would still love it but not because of the quality of the movie but just because of the nostalgia. If you watched it for the first time as a grown up with a judging eye you would understand why the rating is at 6.9
