Why did Roman want crab legs for dinner instead of hot dogs?

It's like Roman had higher standards on what a good time should be than Chet did, Chet seems to be more of an old fashioned kind of guy than Roman.

Did you not watch the movie???? Spoiler if you have not...Roman was a successful Stock Broker and was very wealthy, he was use to high end stuff. (Nice Cars, Big house, Fat bank account, expensive clothes and jewelry, Vacations, etc etc) He is snobby and feels like he needs to be better than everyone else. Even if he wanted Hot Dogs, he wants to act like whatever Chet likes is lower class than him and he wants to show off. And since the end reveals that he got demoted and is in debt, his ego won't let him reveal that he is no different than Chet in terms of wealth and lifestyle. So Yes, he did have a higher standard because he is Snobby and a jerk.

I did and just wanted to know.

I gotchu, Yea it was an Ego thing that is why, listen to how Roman talks to Chet throughout the movie, he is always trying to one up him on everything. He basically wants to come off as "Hey Chet and Connie, look what my money and life can get me that you cannot get" He is a snobby jerk who needs to prove that he is better than people.

I'd rather eat tree bark than the legs of a giant arachnid. Hot dogs, any day.

Wasn’t it lobster tails that Roman grilled….not crab legs?

reply

No, it was hot dogs.
