I will admit I have seen the sequel about three times as much as the original.
The original has some hilarious scenes in it. But there are scenes that drag too which put me off a rewatch - the Maggie scenes for example.
And Jonathan Silverman is much more enjoyable than Michael O'Keefe
The sequel just hits the right notes for me.
Anyone who thinks Caddyshack 2 is better than the original is either a member of Allan Arkush's family or a comedy moron. As one astute poster pointed out, no one has ever quoted from Caddyshack 2.
shareTotal agreement, and I don't want to seems harsh, but anyone who thinks CS2 is better than CS, should relinquish all voting and parenting rights.
But its not the worst comedy ever. That is Nothing but Trouble, which is an affront to humanity. Between that, and his performance in this, Dan Ackroyd should require an annual CT scan, so neither ever occurs again.
