Does anyone else cry every time?
I've seen it a million and a half times, but I cry every time I watch it.

Yes, I cry every time! I watch it about once a year. It's my favorite movie about female friendships. My favorite scene is when they are on the porch toward the end and they are discussing care of the little girl, and she says, I have a very long memory. OMG, I cry every time.
shareOne of the saddest movies of all time. 'Tear'
One of my favs
It didn't make me cry when I was a kid, but it makes me cry every time now!

watched it again last night...and don't just tear up...I weep...every time. What gets me is Bette standing with her back to the mourners at Hill's casket. I bawl everytime. And the last song...when she waves at the end..as if she is saying goodbye...
You pipple mek my ass twitch

That was just amazing... My mum and sister were just watching it and mum came in after making us all a brew... Mum sits down just as Bette sings "whoh whoh whoh"... Sister tells mum, "This is the..." Mum points to sister and they both start to burst out in unison! It was incredible!
Call me cynical but I couldn't help but laugh at poor mum. She had completely missed the build up to "the scene" and two seconds of the song and tears galore! I guess that says something for the power of song!
Oh god yes, I've just watched Bette Midler in concert on the BBC and the last song she sang was 'Wind beneath my wings' and I immediately thought of this movie and the tears started. As with another poster 'The Color Purple' does it for me too, and 'The Kid' with Charlie Chaplin, when he rescues the kid from being taken to the orphanage, the music is amazing, and the tears just flow from me.
shareI don't cry any more, though it still provokes me. The first time I saw the film I nearly choked on my own tears.

I'm a big, burly guy and I cry every time at this ultimate chick flick (in fact it's my 3rd. favorite movie of all time). I'm so conditioned to cry now after multiple viewings that as soon as the movie starts I'm already choking up. The last scene at the beach where CC looks over and realizes Hillary has died, which then cuts away to CC in front of the casket gets me every time. A great, great movie!
shareNot every time. But it always stirs emotions.
shareTry having Wind Beneath Your Wings played at your mom's funeral when you were 11, ya, that was a picknik. My mom died in 91, so the movie was not that old. I love the movie, but the song brings back sad memories. Like little Victoria, my mom died, my dad left, and I really couldn't bring anything with me to my new home, but I did get to bring my cat as well.
shareI only saw this film today, well it was near the end. And I nearly cried. I guess if I knew more of the story i'd have liked it better.
shareEvery time.
The first time, 20 years ago for the story.
This time for the fact I looked at their friendship as a little shallow compared to the depth of plot portrayed.
Perhaps that's looking at it through 60 year old eyes this time.
It's the lyrics of the song that make me cry. Just thinking of it in my mind makes me cry. Especially the part which goes, "so I was the one with all the glory, while you were the one with all the strain".
Even now I'm feeling sad!
