Did this show when Superboy was erased from DC continuity by John Byrne's Man Of Steel
I find it strange they did this how when when Superboy was erased from DC continuity by John Byrne's Man Of Steel two years prior. If you look at where the comics where at around Superman 1&2 they feel like a bygone era of Superman with him being Superboy as a teenager, this older version of the Superman origin which makes the Superboy TV show feel dated for a lot of people because it's an older version of Superman, in John Byrne's MOS they went with the newer approach of not putting on the suit until he's an adult in Metropolis very much like Christopher Reeve, and followed through to Lois & Clark, Smallville and Man Of Steel.
The idea of young Clark Kent being Superboy feels time worn and takes away the spectacle of his first public appearance as Superman.
