As proof, I offer the fact that Ilya Salkind was the executive producer for both the movie and the TV show. So, right there you can find a direct connection between Superman: The Movie and Superboy. A major creative contributor was involved in both productions. In the case of Superboy, Salkind's involvement deepened as the TV show progressed.
There's also the fact that the Smallville seen in Superboy greatly resembles the Smallville from Superman: The Movie. It's not perfect, of course. Because the Smallville scenes in STM were shot mostly in Canada while the Superboy production was headquartered in Florida. Still, it's obvious that the TV show went pretty far out of its way to make sure that the two versions of Smallville lined up with each other as closely as possible. But still imperfectly so. Still, the intent is there.
Also, the Jonathan and Martha Kent seen in the Superboy show greatly resemble the Jonathan and Martha Kent from STM. From casting visually similar actors in both roles to the similarities in their wardrobes, the Jonathans and Marthas in both productions resemble one another.
Superboy's outfit is very similar to Superman's outfit in STM. True, they're not quite identical. But, again, the resemblances are undeniable.
Frankly, the many similarities between the two productions aren't completely logical. You'd think Salkind would want to distinguish a Superboy TV show from a Superman film. And yet, he obviously didn't. If anything, he went pretty far out of his way to visually tie the productions in one with each other.
