Weird things you did as a kid...?

Been a while since I've checked out this board.

In season 3, Goodbye, Mr. Right, the girls tell their parents about finding boxes full of torn body parts, and Roseanne let's them know it's just a boy thing.

At the time it was an appropriate explanation, but the way it works *everyone* does weird things.

What were some of the strange things you did as a child?

I'm sure I worried my dad "playing with dolls" when I would wrap up my sister's' barbies in aluminum foil and put them in the fridge.

I used to think the big white box shaped fridge was a hospital, so even my Fisher price people had a place in the country crock tub, for whatever medical treatment I was giving them.

I also used to take a little barnhouse and put my sister's doll in it and throw it around the house as hard as I could, trying to recreate the tornado scene from wizard of oz.

I also used to think that when the sprinklers came on, the kids from the Goonies were underground and were responsible for my yard being watered.

Kids are nuts. Do you guys have any things you did as a kid that seemed completely normal then, but you'd double take now?

No judgement, just funny stories....

And not me personally. But my 3 year old niece really thinks outside the box.
We were watching "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and she asked me if The Grinch is a Christmas Tree? And if you look at him, his limbs and color is just like a Christmas Tree.
Then she tried to convince me that kangaroos and deers are the same animal, just one is on all fours and other is standing on back legs. Still don't get that one. Ha Ha
And my mom reminded me of something crazy I used to do (I am sure I block it out, because the thought makes me cringe).
Apparately,I used to love baths and would take off clothes and get in tub with ANYONE, if bathroom door wasn't locked. This was when I was a toddler, so like 2 or 3 years old.
So with my parents or brother, they would just put me out of the bathroom. So not a very big deal.
But then I did this
with a guest at my
grandparents house. He was
like 85 years old. And he yelled for my Pappy to come get me, as he was confused and embarrassed too. OMG! Poor old man. He didn't know what was going on.
And my Nana used to always bring it up to anyone I brought around, even when I was a teenager- God Rest her soul :(
But my thing is, you have a toddler, who is repeatedly tearing off her clothes and getting in tub with anyone. Then why did nobody lock the bathroom door? Hello?!? Lol

I never had any pets growing up, with the exception of fish, so I had a lot of imaginary pets. I'd talk about them all the time. I remember a husky that was white with black spots like a dalmatian, a fox that we adopted after a tornado dropped him off on our doorstep despite the fact tornados have never touched down in our area, and a collie who was literate and for some reason lived overseas, so she would frequently send letters.

But you know what's the crazy part about all that? My friends and classmates could accept a tornado leaving a fox on a porch and they could accept a dog who could read and write, but they couldn't accept a husky with dalmatian spots. 😐

Well I'm a girl and I also used to pop the heads and limbs off dolls. And one of them was life-sized. I never saved them in a box though.

Well you certainly had an active imagination ! Why did you wrap the barbie dolls in foil? That's hilarious !

I honestly can't think of any "weird" things I did, but I'm sure if you asked my brother he might be able to come up with something, because I have something for him...

There was a phase, I want to say somewhere between 6 and 8, where he constantly repeated the last few words of his sentence. For example, he might say out loud "I don't want to go to school today. School today." If anybody has ever watched "The Middle," it was something similiar to what Brick does in that show, except he didn't repeat the last words in that creepy whisper voice, it was just in his regular voice and as loud as his regular voice. Plus it didn't last for years like Brick's.

-I thought life used to really be in black & white in the "old days" based on watching old movies and TV shows. I remember asking my mom if life used to really look black & white and she just laughed at me.

Along those same lines, I remember asking my mom once if you dyed your hair a different color, would your baby come out having that color hair? Lol.

Those are just some of the weird things I thought. I did plenty weird things too. Mostly too embarrassed to mention them now.
