Why did Grant Shaud leave the show after 8 years. I'm sure he was being paid well after all that time. Left same message on his board but it went un answered.

Like most viewers and TV critics, he knew the show had gone as far as it could.

But it's not like he went on to do much else. Why the ehll did he give up the best paying job he had? How did they write him out?

One good thing was when Miles left, Lily Tomlin was a breath of fresh air, and there were some very good episodes with her... the three or four seasons prior to her arrival on the show I found almost painful to watch. The show I think was at its best the season Murphy was pregnant, the first season, the season she battled breast cancer, and the first season with Avery where it took like four months for Murphy to finally select a name for her son.

yeah she was good for the show?..but I'm still trying to figure out why Grant Shaud would leave his only good job

He was tired after like eight seasons... too bad leaving that show was an even worse career move for him than Shelley Long's leaving "Cheers"

Yeah but no one ever expected this guy to make a movie in a leading role. People thought Shelly Long might do well, just didn't pan out.

There was a persistent rumor that Shaud brought his current underage or barely-18 "friend" to the set on a night they were taping, and he was let go for it.
