Worst movie I've ever seen

Been a while since I have actually sat down and watched this but we started to watch it in one classes a while back. Basically the worst movie I have ever seen. How can it be so highly rated? Do people really watch this and say "yep, that was an awesome movie."

One absolutely terrible scene I remember is the agents looking down on a bridge where alcohol is being transported. Then they all get on horses and charge the bridge. The gunfight is completely ridiculous and the music makes it 100 times worse.

Uh, yes, this is a great movie, one of my favorites. It is one of the best prohibition-era gangster films ever made, and Brian De Palma is a stylistically awesome director.

Yes, people have problems with the horse charge at the bridge, but seeing as they were riding with Canadian Mounties, it would make sense for them to take advantage of that.

Limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief: directly proportional to its awesomeness.

The film is overrated at 8/10 - but saying it's the worst film ever is an obvious exaggeration or lie, or you've only seen a few films. There are far worse films rated higher on here though.
Go away and watch some films and you'll soon discover that 90% of films are worse than The Untouchables. I've been going through the imdb top-rated films and it seems only about 50 great films have ever been made.
Although, I've seen more engrossing TVMs than some films rated high on the list.

Ahhh, the token "worst movie ever/worst movie I've ever seen" thread... there has to be one on every board!

Not really "The worst movie I've ever seen", but "The worst movie ever"
I just didn't feel like wasting anymore of my time when the movie comes to Jim Malone's execution. The worst "execution" I have ever seen. The man is perforated by a tommy gun clip, and yet he is capable of getting inside his house and wait for the arrival of Ness. I knew that irish people were difficult to kill but this is really nonsensical.
I do not think anyone could or can endure such punishment to the extent of being able to transmit any message to anybody.
Being a coroner, I have knowledge about firearms and the effect they cause on human beings. There were some other gory scenes but really it is not worth to discuss them. With the one described, it is enough to dump this movie into a trashcan.
I think that an 8 rating is far too much for this production. It is overrated with my 1/10 stars.
This can only be classified as an insult to Robert Stack and their tv series of the 60's
My apologies to those who disagree. But I prefer the original version. Less Special Effects and more down to Earth. Or at least less ridiculous

Wow, worst movie you've ever seen, you must have not seen many movies then, have you?

Must not have seen Rustlers Rhapsody...that's my worst.

I remember that movie. Even as a teen, that was bad. I don't expect a lot from comedies, though.

I'm just expressing my opinion.

Well I don't think there is something as 'the worst'. I have a whole list of bad movies, but I agree.. THIS MOVIE WAS CRAP. Total garbage. Every cool gangster thing about DeNiro got *beep* on this movie. It was like a child made this movie and tried to have some 'scary' gangster moments in it. It's no Scarface or Goodfellas, but it gets rated like it, it's insane and an outrage.

Costner was horrible, but damn I can't get over Connery, he sucks so hard in this movie, really no role for him. He is no gangster.

It feels like a parody of every good gangster film and it wasn't even funny.

Yes, he sucked so badly he won an Academy Award for his performance. *eyeroll*

And if you had bothered to actually watch the film, you would have noted that his character isn't a gangster. He's a cop.

You perfectly captured this entire stupid thread. "Untouchables" is a great film with some fantastic performances and a striking musical score. This thread, on the other hand, is total and utter garbage.

Its hackneyed and trite...nothing spectacular. Other than Patricia Clarkson I have no reason to watch it.
