Best soundtrack from an 80s film? Most underrated?

I love the music soundtrack for this movie. I bought it on cassete and later on CD.Although most of the artists are not very famous for much else, it was a very cool alternative new wave soundtrack. I especially love "She Loves Me" from the kissing scene, Lick the Tins at the end, the Amanda Jones tune, and my personal fave: the gem that's not included on the album, the instrumental version of Billy Idol's "Catch my Fall" at the house party climax. For me one of the most underated Soundtrack Albums of the eighties. is it the best one? Better than Pretty in Pink?Breakfast Club?Top Gun?Footloose? Although those others probably sold more copies, I find the SKOW soundtrack a fresh listen years later.

You look great wearing my future.

It's definitely one of the best soundtracks of all time. Yes, of the 80's, placed in that time period, cos it's that "type" of music we came to love from that generation. But I think it stands the test of time superbly. I just wish all of the music used in the movie was on the cd.

Can't Help Falling In Love just came up in my iTunes and that's what lead me here....just a super 80's soundtrack and movie....this is where I first discoverd Elias Koteas and have been a fan ever since...

Ooh, She Loves Me is running...Lesson's over, you're cool!

I'd say it ties with Pretty in Pink on my list. Both soundtracks were phenomenally alternative.

Does anyone know the name of that song that was playing while watts was walking down the street at the end? Its sounds like a piano or guitar riff before "falling in love with you" comes on...

Does anyone know the song that's playing when Keith sees Watts at the end of the movie standing by the car?

It's a remake of the song: "Can't Help Falling in Love".

The most popular version being the one sung by the king himself, Elvis.

The band LICK THE TINS performs the version that's in the movie.

You can check out the song on youtube:

Agree. This is one of my all time fave soundtracks.

If anyone is interested, a current underrated soundtrack that I really like is from Henry Poole is Here. Not a movie I think many people saw, but I enjoyed it, and the soundtrack is really good.
