Your favourite scene?

I'm wondering what your absolute favourite scene in the movie is. Ofcourse this movie is filled with memorable scenes and choosing one would almost be a sin but alas.

I personally get chills when Robocop goes to confront Dick Jones. Jones then calls Ed-209 and a struggle begins between Robo and ED. Now the great shot in this scene is when Robo gets hit and falls to the ground. His vizor gets damaged and you see a glimpse of his right eye. That glimpse really shows his humanity, his will to survive. That in combination with the music is great.

Also the second part of that scene, where he gets outside and the police is waiting outside to destroy Robo, is heartbreaking. Again, you can see the despair and pain on Robo's face. He tries to crawl away on his knees, with his last spark of energy. Again, guided by heart-wrenching music, i really feel his pain.

Well this is really amazing to me, hehe. Your thoughts?

So many great scenes but for me, two spring to mind.
The moment RoboCop steps out of the lift and begins the walk to Dick Jones' office. Also love the scene when Clarence is about to shoot Lewis, says "Bye bye baby" and out of nowhere, Robo shouts "CLARENCE" and we see him almost walking on water, à la Jesus Christ as he moves towards Boddicker.
The Basil Poledouris music is just so fitting in these two scenes too.
Just love this film.

This is an amazing movie. Hard to choose one scene. The ending scenes are epic. I also love anything involving Clarence Bodicker.

Mine is when Emil is randomly deciding to knock off the gas station he's filling his bike up at and harasses the clerk there. Robocop shows up and when he says "Dead or alive...you're coming with me"-- Emil is in disbelief. The music along with the video playback (which was pretty cool btw).."We're dead, we killed you!"--then that bad ass explosion and Robocop finally beginning to put it all together and get back on par with his vengeance.

There's so many good scenes in this film!! And agree with you about the music score, its so heart-wrenching and stoic. Let's see, my three favourite:

1. All the surgery scene, with the POV's and Murphy's dead blank expression. Love the cuts, and the music in particular. Also the fact that the first glimpse we get to see of him as Robo is through a tv screen, adds so much mistery to the character.

2. When the ED-209 loses control and kills that poor guy in the OCP office. It shocked me very deeply when I was a kid and still - as Murphy's death scene - it is such a powerful scene to this day.

3. The final scene: Murphy assuming his humanity after killing Dick Jones, and the Old Man's "nice shootin', son. What's your name? - "Murphy". Cut to heroic music. AAAHHHH what an epic final for and excellent film!

the violent deaths mixed in with the News Breaks. KC Wong and the female whoever she is the farcical close-ups to their eyes lol nice touch.

Seriously the violence day to day is so extreme the citizens of Old Detroit are practically desensitized by it all. the Murphy death scene was shocking and Emil's meltdown near the end.

I like when Emil drives into the toxic waste. He looks like the toxic avenger. lol

I don't know if I have a definitive favorite scene, but I liked the part where Emil is harasssing that guy in the gas station. He's just being such a prick, that it tickles me every time I see it.

"Give me all your money, bookworm, or I'll Blow your brains out. Now fill up on number 7?"

Later he jumps on him even more:

"Hey man, whatcha reading there? *sees the Plain Geometry book, and busts out laughing* You a COLLAGE BOY or somethin'?! I'll bet you think your pretty smart, don't ya? Think you could outsmart a bullet?!"

What a douche. LOL!

Ha ha that is a great line especially how he laughs at his own joke while going to fill up his motorcycle. Makes me laugh every time :D These villains were great especially Kurtwood Smith. They're the kind of villains that you love but you're also happy when RoboCop smites them all.

Not particularly my favorite scene, but one of the funnier scenes was the way Johnson looked at Dick (😂) after Robo played Dick's confession of killing Bob. Then the way Johnson smiled when Robo was shooting Dick, and finally the thumbs up he gave Robo. Hilarious...

This might be the funniest scene in the movie. The way Johnson rises out of his chair in anticipation as Dick Jones is getting shot to pieces and the thumbs up are gold. No movie character in film history has ever been as happy to witness a killing as Johnson was.

As everyone else has said it's really difficult to choose a favorite scene. Mine might be when Murphy takes off his helmet with that sad music building up. And the line, "I can feel them but I can't remember them" is perfect.

I always liked the scene where Mr. Kinney meets his unfortunate demise.

It's so ridiculously over the top and the ending lines are wonderful: "Someone call an ambulance! Don't touch him!"

It's spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced 'Throat-Warbler Mangrove'

Robocop goes through his former home (such a memorable scene in what was supposed to be a silly little action movie) and ofcourse the last line in the movie.

.."silly - action movie"? maybe a bit more?

First of all, let me say that.... every scene in the original Robocop is freakin' Golden! Now, with that being said, my favorite scene in this amazing sci-fi classic film is the parody commercial for the 6000 American SUX, that advertised getting 8.5 miles per gallon. That scene was absolutely dropped down hilarious in the 80's. Today however..... eh, not so much.

For those of you who are maybe too young to know or remember the 80's, the reason the parody American SUX car commercial was so hilarious at the time was because, after decades of Americans believing (with good reason) that their consumer products were the best in the world, in terms of innovation, price and quality. And, for decades they were.

However, by the mid-late 80's, Japanese imports became the new king of the international consumer markets, and it was the general perception among most Americans by the mid-late 80's that, American made cars royally sucked in comparison to Japanese imports. And, they actually did royally suck in comparison.... like massively.
