What was H.I.saying when he saw Small's tattoo when he was pounding on him?H.I was saying I I,then somthing else

I think he saw the same tattoo that he had and said I'm sorry as he got away.

It drove me nuts, because I couldn't figure it out, either, but now, I'm wondering if Hi was trying to tell him that he pulled the pin off his grenade.
