We are told the King dies just before the wedding but after that he is present at the wedding and he even has a short dialogue with buttercup. Can someone explain this?

shareButtercup had a nightmare, so that entire scene starting with the grandpa saying "The King died that very night," and ending with the old lady yelling "Boo!" is fake. In fact, the grandpa says that the king was still alive after she woke up. You need to listen to the narration a little better.
