Andre the Giant

I'm watching it again now. I agree, he's terrific in this!

It's kind of poignant, when you realize that Andre was in poor health, during the filming. He was suffering agonizing back pain; the producers built up a raised ridge between his feet so Westley could appear to be hanging from Fezzik's neck, when Cary Elwes was actually walking along the ridge, to avoid putting his full weight on Andre's injured back.

Billy Crystal wrote 'My Giant' with the intention of having Andre star in it, because he was eager to work with Andre again after The Princess Bride. But Andre passed away before it started production.

You may have come on no bicycle, but that does not say that you know everything.

He's great in this movie.

wow, what a cool movie poster shown here, that's not how the dvd cover i'm common with looks like, i haven't seen this in years but just saw clips from it on cnn with a scene including andre the giant, here's a fun story i've heard in a documentary about andre the giant, andre didn't want to admit he liked playing the part but the people who knew him said he was proud of it, did you know andre the giant was also considered to play "jaws" in the james bond movies, i guess this was shot the same year as the classic pro wrestling match between andre and hulk hogan in wrestlemania 3, even though this is such a popular well known flick i can't recall ever seeing it air on television in my country, i've only seen it once, years ago on dvd, one line i remember from the movie that stuck in my mind "i'm gonna send you back to greenland", i know one of the actors in this does the voice to stewie's brother bertram in family guy, and about this cover, it takes me right back to the spoof of this in family guy, something like - "do you want me to finish the story or don't you?", - "no grandpa, i don't want you to keep reading, there are computers now."

I agree. My favorite scenes were the ones with Andre in it.

This film may have been his last hurrah? His wrestling career and his general health was winding down at this point. He had that match against Hogan at Wrestlemania 3 (which Andre lost), and not much else of note afterwards
