Ridiculous Ninja Scene

There is a ridiculous ninja scene in this movie that has nothing to do with anything that is actually going on in the movie. I can't remember what they are doing. I think its right after the prison break scene with "Simon says"....All of a sudden the girl with the huge boobs, Jones, and the Japanese cop are running onto a boat, which has a bunch of ninjas on it. Naturally our cop friends are much better fighter's than the trained ninjas, so they clearly win. But its never explained in the first place why they go to a boat, why there are ninja's on it, or what the whole point of that scene was.....Amazing!! Only in the 80's could you get away with something like this...

The best part is when the ninja spots the cops and says, "Oh *beep*

Doesn't Proctor make a reference to "Ninjas" somewhere, a little bit before this scene, though?

Rocky VI must happen! Sean Penn said so!

there are ninjas in the jail in the station, proctor walks past them before he plays simon says

harris also tells him to go look at the ninjas just after the aforementioned impersonation

Well, it was probably to get Jones to do his ninja stuff, which is part of his trademark. Also, I like it when one of the ninjas says, "Oh, *beep* when he sees Jones swinging down.

They're not getting away with anything. The ninjas escaped from the prison so Callahan, Jones and the other guy are merely recapturing them. In no way is the scene random.

But the fact that these highly trained ninjas throw a half assed weak punch, and then freeze solid for 5 seconds while the police academy crew attack them like retards, really does prove that you can only get away with this in a 1980s police academy sequel lol.

I assume one of two possibilities:

They either call themselves "ninjas" as a tactic, when they're obviously not, or...a wizard cast a spell on them to make them forget their training.

Either way...should we care?

There was sort of a karate/ninja trend back then , I guess they wanted to mock those films lol ?

Police Academy 3 and 4 had moments where even though they're comedy screwball movies, they really didnt make sense

such as ninjas being in a jail cell in the first place and then them escaping and being on a boat.

That and the police academy just letting a known gang member leader such as Zed signing up at the academy where in the previous first two movies he and his gang members were terrorizing grocery stores and being a menace out on the streets etc
