I never understood that, its not like Freddy lived in it when he was alive, yet in all the sequels the main characters have to go inside it and its acting like its Freddy's house he brought kids to and killed or something.
Freddy's signature place should be the boiler room, thats where he brought kids to murder them, not Nancy's house.
This isn't in the movies but a sequel comic to Freddy's dead revealed that Freddy lived in it before Nancy's mom and dad. I think the reason the film makers made Freddy became associated with it is to tie in the events of the first film.
shareI've been giving them a rewatch and I think it might just be because Nancy's mom had kept the glove in the boiler in the basement. When Nancy and her dad moved, it appears the glove was left there as Jesse finds it and that leads to his possession.
I never bought that Freddy lived there before Nancy's parents as I have always thought that they lost a child to Freddy when he was alive. It makes no sense that they would move into that house.
Just my thoughts.
Freddy's glove was stored in Nancy's furnace as a souvenir - and he was sent back to the dream world by Nancy when she immolated him so maybe he has two houses because of this. I do agree that sticking with only the boiler room would have been better.
