Is the offspring of the sharks from the first two movies (Jaws 3 is discredited and not counted as part of the continuum), somehow knew that its parents were killed by Martin Brody, was somehow was able to track down and kill Sean, was somehow able to track down Helen after she left Amity, and was somehow able to target the entire Brody family. Oh, and was also somehow able to roar despite sharks not having vocal cords. And lets not forget that its head somehow blew up after it was stabbed. WTF?

Oh, there is a solution to the exploding head mystery. It came too close to the electro-signals Mike gave it. Mike triggered a last time before colliding with the shark and KABOOM!!

This shark has eaten so many people in its lifetime that perhaps it had some of the remains of human vocal cords in its body to produce that roaring sound?

they intend this film to be supernatural. shark is like boogeyman for brody family.

If you think the title "Revenge" has to do with Ellen's revenge on the shark for killing Sean then the plot is a little more plausible.
