It was so very moving. Christian Bale did such an excellent job in the role of Jim all throughout the film. He was only 15 or so when the film was made.

I've seen this movie at least a dozen times and it gets me every single time.

Bale was only 13 when he shot this.

One of the greatest ever performances by a child. He is extraordinary in a huge and difficult role. I have enjoyed many of Bale’s adult performances but I honestly don’t think he has ever matched this early triumph.

Yes, the final scene is unforgettable.
