One of the most goofiest horror movies I've ever seen. One word I'd use to describe it would be "offbeat". The mid-80s to the mid-90s had it's share of offbeat movies. This is no exception. It's pure of randomness with some of the things they throw at you. I can see why some might not like it, but I thought it was funny, or "corny", which is the more fitting word. Considering it hails from the late-80s, when horror started to lean more towards comedic hijinks, it's alright for what it is.

My favorite 80's horror slasher!
Of course it's good. Better than good.

I'm fully aware that this was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek horror-comedy but it feel flat for me in every way when I watched it this past weekend. Just really badly and idiotic done I thought. I watched it as part of a horror movie marathon and couldn't wait for them to get to the next movie. Outrageous, gory, borderline-nihilistic horror-comedies can be really enjoyable when they're made with skill, i.e. the films of Frank Henenlotter, early films of Sam Raimi, early films of Peter Jackson, etc. This is just not one of them. Just dreadful.

"I watched it as part of a horror movie marathon" Same here. Hated it. That scene with the band at the end went on forever.

The poster art(the one with the moon overlooking the diner) is the best thing to come out of the film.
