Am I the only one who thought this movie was awful??

I just didn't get it. Maybe you had to have seen back in '87.

Love it. You are definitely in the minority. But why worry about it? Who cares if you're the only one? People on imdb try way too hard to convince others of their opinion, as though there were a "right" or "wrong" when it comes to opinions. It's just an opinion. Own it and move on.

no you're not and I've tried three times now to make sure I'm not wrong and unfortunately I'm not. Boring, almost zero story and EB just does nothing for me at all, it's just a mess.

You're not the only one.

I wanted to like this movie so badly, but just don't get the appeal.

It's dated quicker than last year's calendar and the acting would make Pinocchio embarrassed to put his name to it. ;) The plot was ultimately dull and predictable, and the infamous scene between Quaid and Barkin just felt clumsy and awkward.

I love crime dramas, and especially love 80s movies, so was bitterly disappointed by how lacklustre this film was. Apologies to those who did enjoy it, as I appreciate that taste is subjective, but I just don't get it. On paper, this promises so much, but between the shoddy directing, the weak dialogue, and a lead actor who seems to think it's acceptable to give a coked-up performance, it just failed to deliver.
