Their chemistry in this movie is scorching

In a nutshell, yes!
This film is terrific and the performances of the two leads, Quaid and Barkin, make it what it is.
The more Ken Loach films I try to see, the more I think they need subtitles!
aveen,
You can't fake good chemistry on film ... You can TRY but I don't think you can do it completely convincingly.
Quaid was BORN to play this role.
Barkin was his verrry game partner-in-crime, if you will.
Reportedly BOTH actors have stated that this film was one of their favorites to work on, and that they both got along well with each other!
The more Ken Loach films I see, the more I think they need English subtitles.
I agree!
<<<Potential Spoilers>>>
For me, the sexiest clothed love scene in this film is the final scene. The earlier scene is pretty remarkable too! But it doesn't take much imagination to imagine, in some detail, what happens after the credits start rolling . . . . The physical ease the two of them have with each other as they are dancing, the way they are dancing, their facial expressions, and, importantly, the way they laugh together . . .
This is not the greatest movie in the world, but the relationship between the two is sexy, fun, and believable! Oh, and hot!
Decided to get it out from netflix after seeing an interview with Ellen Barkin on the CBS Sunday Morning show. Interesting how Hollywood has never considered her that attractive. She sure passes the crackers in bed test for me.
I have always felt that the scene between Barkin and Quaid was the sexiest not to actually "show" anything scene in mainstream film. Re-watching it did not change that.
Just goes to show the primary sex organ is the brain because it is the brain that is telling you what Dennis' fingers are doing, not the camera.
I love this movie. Boner city.
