I totally agree with you about this being the SEXIEST love scene in the history of film. I could not take my eyes off of Dennis Quaid...he was SIZZLING HOTT(and still is) & I wanted SO badly to be Ellen Barkin when he was devouring her with that long deep hot kiss in the chair & then in bed watching him make love to her drove me WILD...wanted to ravage those delicious rock hard abs of his & jump his bones! Ellen Barkin must have enjoyed EVERY moment of that scene with dennis as he's so charming & so HOTT I just LOVE his sexy bod & gorgeous smile.
I thought it was really cute that she was kind of embarassed at 1st & then dennis's character Remy kept telling her "Relax darlin' it's the Big Easy, people have a certain way of doing things around here" & she replied "I noticed". What made it even hotter was listening to his sexy voice in the backround as "Closer To You" played during their love scene. He has an AMAZING voice & I completly melted during the movie (esp this scene) just watching him.
To me he is god's gift to women.....I cannot get enough of this guy. He is the SEXIEST man alive IMO & keeps getting better looking with age. Have you seen him in Flight Of The Phoenix?>oooohhhhhh my that body of his is SO FIT & BEAUTIFUL. He is HOTT HOTT HOTT & I can watch his movies over & over again & never get sick of him, I LOVE him:)P

I agree. Just caught it again on cable, remember seeing it when it first came out. But enought with the clothes. My favorite scene is when DQ rolls out of bed naked to rush to a crime scene (sorry, no frontal views).

Dennis Quaid's body back then was/still is the hottest thing I've seen. That butt! He's still good to look at but in that movie he was every woman's fantasy. I'm surprised this movie has so few comments - it was very hot.

I agree, it's an incredibly sexy film, and very clever that no clothes were removed in the famous scene, it makes it all the better.

The humour in the movie also adds to the sexiness, i think, it never takes itself too seriously.

I too recently saw The Big Easy on cable & thankfully tivo'd the movie. Had forgotten just how sexy Dennis Quaid was/is. Those abs and his smile.... I've even downloaded a pic of him laying on the couch in the dark, shirtless from that movie as my desktop screensaver. I've got it bad! I think the scene in the bedroom with Quaid & Ellen Barkin is the BEST/HOTTEST scene in the past twenty years of movies. Yes, it's hard to believe that movie came out in 1985 or 1986. I'm wearing out the rewind button on the remote just watching it over & over.

Oooo, I am even now at this moment watching this movie - it is so hot. Goes to show sex scenes don't have to be naked and explicit to be a turn on. I love the scene where she goes into the kitchen and sees him bent over in the fridge and she's afraid it's his brother again, then he turns and smiles at her, oh yeah, he's sooooo hot! Especially, because he's so charming and I think deep down most women love a man whose so open about wanting them, and pursuing them. Manly men put the "whoa" in woman!!

Entertainment Weekly just came out with their 50 hottest movie scenes and Quaid/Barkin in the The Big Easy weren't on it. They did ask for viewer comments on the ones they missed. You bet I posted The Big Easy!

That's what prompted me to watch the film. Quaid is major ick IMHO but the chemistry between him and Barkin was good. Though it ain't hard to conjure up passion in steamy, sultry New Orleans.

You women must really love your unsophisticated hillbilly types, cuz I read women going into orgasms over Bill Paxton too. I suppose most of you also foam at the mouth over Matt Dillon then... even his ugly brother Kevin probably makes you all moist. Is there anything hotter than the Dennis Quaid/Ellen Barkin chemistry/clothed sex scenes/all scenes together in the whole history of movies? I have to say no. I can't think of anything in any movie that is hotter than the chemistry between those two. Whew -- Remy is what every women wants: Sexy, hot, warm, loving, capable, funny, confident,and sincere, and that accent he had! Mmmmmmmm.

Just got this DVD used for 3.99... and completely worth it for what is just the hottest foreplay sequence I've ever seen. The very part at the beginning where he undoes her hair and she half squeals/half moans is hotter than any of the bullcrap sex scenes of any Basic Instinct type thing.

Funny how Hollywood rarely shows sex scenes that are this casual and unforced... like they're actually prudes who would rather show sex as something "wrong", a diversion.

I was thinking this the other day when I saw Michael Mann's "Miami Vice"... there's a wonderful scene with Jamie Foxx and his girlfriend that is similar to the one in The Big Easy.
