Is season 2 really that bad?

I know the majority don't like Dr. Polaski, but I think some of that hate rubs onto the story lines. I just finished season 2 (35 years after originally watching it), and apart from the awful episode where Riker is dreaming parts of previous episodes, I didn't think it was that bad of a season.
Even Dr Polaski was more tolerable than I remembered.

Even season 3 had about 4-5 episodes before it got good.

I think the second half of it is good. The first half is still an improvement on the first season.

Dr. Polaski grew on me over time, after a few rewatches.

reply

None of the seasons of this show are bad, including the first season.

reply

I would answer more or less the same.

There were one of two cringeworthy early episodes, but the show improved when Riker grew a beard. I didn't have a problem with Dr Polanski, but I liked Dr Crusher more.

It's not completely bad. There are a few good episodes here and there. I still love "Up the Long Ladder," with the Irish space colonists ;)

Hedy Lamarr is right! - season 2 gets more hate than it deserves.

I think Dr. Polaski was intentionally written to be a change from the more affable Dr. Crusher and maybe even a bit like the (at times) crotchety Dr. McCoy. I think McCoy pulled off the lovable crotchety character better than Muldaur did.

THAT'S HEDLEY!!!

All good, even the first season; the more you re-watch the more, though.
