Those scenes aren't meant to make you laugh. It's meant to make you empathy towards the character. For instance, Scar killing Mufasa in the Lion King, is not meant to be funny it's meant to make you show empathy,regardless if he's real or not.
If you had to experience first hand the death of a parent or being abused as a child, I bet you my last dollar you would NOT be laughing at those scenes.
No one is saying you have to cry or be sad about these scenes, but saying that you cherish the idea of people suffering is pretty messed up.
