Damn this movie cost $2.7 million to make!
That's a lot of loot for 1986. I figured it was low budget.

shareAdjusted for inflation that comes in at under 6 million in current market. Still very cheap for a non-documentary film.
shareReal cheap for the period.
you gotta wonder why a film now costs $200m to make!
whats changed?
Apart from computers do a lot of the work , which you'd think would cut costs in half
And it was filmed in less than a month.
Didn't look too cheap to me with all those explosions and burning debris.
This must have sent em back a few bucks!
shareI'd like to know where all of that money went cause it definitely didn't go for the acting, or overhead, or acting.
shareIt was a little more expensive than your average mid eighties horror movie, but then there it was pretty effects heavy. Still fairly low budget, though.
shareStill fairly low budget, though.
an understatement i'd say
Its cheap AF! surely ?
I mean " mid eighties horror movies" were minimal budget things too .
Surely the average movie in the 80s was like 10x what this one cost
