I heard about it from the TV spots, and my sister going on and on about how hot River Phoenix was. I really wanted to see it because it was about four kids following the train tracks for miles. Growing up I lived right by the tracks and my friends and I use to walk them all of the time. Back in those days the cops didn't fine you for doing that. Actually, most of them never said a word to us. I never got to see the film in the theater. I "saw" it for the first time on PPV. This was the early days of PPV when they scrambled the picture, but you could still hear the audio. So, I sat in my bed room and listened. I remember my dad walking in and saying "What are you doing? Watching porn?" (an interesting note is that on the old cable boxes if you pressed down 2 and 10 the playboy channel came in in almost perfect black and white) So that's how I "saw" it for the first time. Soon after when it was released on VHS my mom rented it from the local video store (Video Showcase in East Northport NY)and I watched it with my mom and dad.
